You are always assured of a warm welcome when visiting The Swan@Stoford, which is situated near the beautiful Cathedral City of Salisbury, and a ‘stone’s throw’ from the ancient and mystical monument of Stonehenge.

A traditional Inn in the beautiful Wylye Valley, The Swan@Stoford has provided accommodation and acted as a stopping off point for weary travellers journeying between Bath and Salisbury for over 150 years. Now it is a destination in its own right. Our beautiful Inn offers 9 en-suite rooms at 4* AA and Visit Britain standard – ideal for short stays, and to use as a base to explore the stunning surrounding area. From walking or fishing (we have fishing rights for our guests to enjoy) to visiting local places of interest such as Stonehenge, The City of Salisbury and its magnificent Cathedral, Longleat House with its Safari Park and Wilton House. And for those cyclists among you, there’s a lockable garage here at The Swan which you’re welcome to use.

Our traditional bar offers a range of 3 cask ales, 45-Bin wine list (all available by the glass) and a great hot and cold drink selection in traditional surroundings with a welcoming atmosphere. Enjoy our idyllic riverside gardens in the summer or the log fire on cozy winter evenings. We are open 7 days a week from 8 am serving your favourite coffees, teas and food throughout the day until 9.30pm. “It was clean, cosy and comfortable.The food was very good and the staff were most helpful and kind. Booked last minute but it turned out to be a gem.One of the outside seating areas was across the road by the river. Bedrooms were modern in design an unexpected find in a country pub. The pub was busy and all were friendly. We would stay there again. Park and ride was down the road about 2 miles at Wilton to take you into Salibury city centre. Buses stops almost outside of the pub and restaurant to take you further afield and lots of excellent walks in the area. ”

We were delighted to receive this review with The Travel Editor in December 09. “Apparently William the Conqueror liked to visit Old Sarum Castle, perched high above the Salisbury Plain and site of the ancient city of Salisbury.
